Levoit Humidifiers: Should You Buy One Alongside Your Purifier?
Levoit makes purifiers and humidifiers, and many shoppers wonder if a combo set is worth it. Short answer: yes if your room drops below 30% humidity in winter, no if you already live in a humid climate. Below are the three Levoit humidifier models we recommend and how they pair with the Core series.
Levoit humidifier lineup compared
| Model | Tank | Coverage | Noise | Smart | Best for | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Levoit Classic 200 | 3 L | 291 sq ft | 26 dB | No | Bedrooms under 300 sq ft, no smart needed | Amazon |
| Levoit OasisMist 4.5L Smart | 4.5 L | 505 sq ft | 28 dB | WiFi + Alexa + Google | Medium bedrooms and living rooms wanting WiFi + auto humidity sensor | Amazon |
| Levoit LV600HH (warm + cool) | 6 L | 753 sq ft | 32 dB | No (manual + remote) | Large bedrooms in winter where warm mist is helpful | Amazon |
Can you run a Levoit purifier and humidifier in the same room?
Yes - they target different problems. The purifier captures dry-particulate dust, dander and smoke; the humidifier raises water vapor. Place them at least 3 feet apart so the purifier doesn't draw mist directly into the HEPA media (wet HEPA grows mold).
Humidity targets
The EPA recommends indoor humidity between 30% and 50%. Below 30% causes static, dry skin and sinus irritation. Above 50% encourages dust mites. Use the OasisMist's built-in humidity sensor (or a $10 hygrometer for the manual models) to dial in target levels.
What about ultrasonic vs evaporative?
All three Levoit humidifiers listed here are ultrasonic. Ultrasonic models are quieter and don't need a wick, but they can release mineral dust if you fill them with tap water - use distilled or filtered water for best results. Evaporative humidifiers (not Levoit's primary lineup) self-regulate by humidity but are noisier.
